In this series you will find the questionnaire Be Students not Strangers for direct use in class. You will also find further information on its development, as well as additional literature on student participation and sense of community in the tutorial file. The question set was developed by the Co3Learn project to facilitate students’ first steps in class and promote the creation of sustainable learning communities. The Students not Strangers question set includes methods for students to get to know each other, as well as check in with one another. The questions encourage dialogue in small groups, go beyond the usual small talk, and create a space for participants to connect, while encouraging self-reflection among participants. Employing these questions not only creates a sense of belonging that not only improves the in-class climate, but also supports learning and fosters active participation. The question set can be easily integrated into classes and provides an effective stimulus for collaborative and supportive learning.

Das Projekt WisGe verfolgt das Ziel, einen Grundlagenkurs zum wissenschaftlichen Schreiben für Germanistik-Studierende der Universität Freiburg als hybride Veranstaltung mit einer wöchentlichen, einstündigen Präsenzveranstaltung und digitalen Anteilen zu konzipieren und ein nachhaltiges, modernes und didaktisch ausgereiftes Unterrichtskonzept inkl. passender Materialien zu entwickeln. Den Studierenden soll nicht nur die Möglichkeit geboten werden, Grundlagenwissen zum wissenschaftlichen Arbeitsprozess und Schreiben zu erlangen, sondern ihre Schreibkompetenz durch eigene, angeleitete Textproduktion nachhaltig zu verbessern, um davon für ihre gesamte universitäre Ausbildung und darüber hinaus zu profitieren. Hier bedarf es digitaler Anwendungen, deren Entwicklung und Nutzbarmachung in diesem Projekt eine zentrale Rolle spielen. Dazu gehören Selbstlern- und Vertiefungsangebote ebenso wie eine interaktive Schreibplattform.

Erweiterung der Evaluation mit Fachexperten
Die Rahmenbedingungen für eine empirische Evaluation sind in der Praxis nicht immer gegeben, gerade in kleinen Studiengängen oder Wahlpflichtfächern, die nur im jährlichen Turnus angeboten werden, können nicht immer Best-Practice-Ansätze verfolgt werden. Um den damit verbundenen Nachteilen entgegenzuwirken, wurden zusätzlich Prototypen-Tests mit Fachexperten aus dem Kollegium durchgeführt.
